Myspace Videos
Risks and tips

Video's on myspace - www.myspace.com - profiles are less harmless than they look. They may contain malware, and install harmful software on your friends' computers. They will also likely slow down the loading process of your myspace-profile. To minimise the risks, follow these tips:
- Never set the videos you put on your profile to 'auto-play'. Let users decide for themselves whether they want to risk playing them.
- Never use videos that are hosted on a URL with the term zango in them. This is a known malware distributor.
What can you do to not have problems with other peoples profiles and their video's?
Well, you can hope they do the above, or you can install firefox, and add the add-on flash-block.
This will have the added advantage of faster-download times for myspace profiles. No more waiting, hearing your computer moan as it tries to download multiple video's at once (and some music too). This is really a lot faster and no risks that the video someone else embedded in their myspace-profile is going to jam your computer. So click on the banner below, install firefox, come back to this page and install flashblock as well. And of course you can play the video if you want to, but it will be one video at a time - and when you choose.
