The minimum you need to know to be able to

Make your own website

in 3 small steps

  1. You need to be able to work with an HTML-editor. This is a program like MS-word in which you can type and change colors and add pictures without much fuss. I advise NVU (free)
    1. NVU has spel check
    2. It is easy to make links in NVU
  2. You need an online space (webhost) to put your material on. This could be geocities (free) or a small webhost that should cost you no more than $5,-  a month. Free webhosts will usually display advertisements alongside your web-pages.
  3. You need to be able to put the documents you made in your HTML-editor online. For this you need to follow the instructions given by your webhost. They should provide you with either:
    1. inlog-codes for use with an FTP-program (Firezilla: free)
    2. an easy way to put files online (geocities has that)

This is the absolute minimum. If you make more websites, you should learn HTML and CSS.

This article assumes you only need to make a website with a few pages, without databases and other complicated stuff.
